Zoom-in is on a distinguished road
Cool Bob Power Interview

Zoom In Online™ an amazing interview with Bob Power, Grammy award-winning producer/engineer who worked with Erykah Badu, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest. Hop in and listen to his discussion on the producer's role as a "facilitator" and helper to the artist, and how the accessibility of modern technology allows people of all walks of life to try a hand at making music.

Check that out!

Great interview overall!

I agree with 99% of what he said. I love how he's a "music guy" first. I notice that "music guys" tend to more inclined to use an in the box compressor than guys who are just wannabe engineers. I love how he also thinks that great music can be made/recorded in a living room. He is right!

Now I can't say that I agree with his opinions on Mac. My views on that have been mentioned written here many, many times. In the end, I'll take a PC and a Soundelux U195 or a AT4050 AND Shure SM7 over just getting a Mac. His left brain/right brain argument may hold water when you initially fire up the computer or even when creating folders (although I'm still very skeptical). However, the issue of left brain/right brain is instantly thrown out the window when you fire up Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools, or whatever software you prefer.

So a great interview from a dude who I HIGHLY agree with on the musical side of things. I just happen to believe that you can achieve everything he is speaking of with a PC and Cubase in addition to Mac and Logic.

Brandon
