I'm responding here, because its easier, won't take up three pages worth of scrolling, and doesn't have to wait for a moderator. Hope you don't mind.

But if you’re going to do a review of it, you should at least cover all of its features.
This is a fair request. I probably could have dug deeper into this such a thing, but to be honest, I thought the article was long enough as is.

Economising on the featureset would be fine if it was a balanced review.

One such feature is the ability to over-ride everything.
I saw this. I didn’t see any reason to meddle in the affairs of AAMS. The idea was to see what analysis it thought was best and stick with it.

I still have to put the clothes in my automatic washing machine.

I believe a person in the market for automatic mastering is doing so to either make the process faster or to make up for a lack of skill. If skill is required to use AAMS, I think that kills at least some spirit of the review.

I think the idea is that it can be used by the people who have the skills to mix a recording to a level that makes it worth hearing. Yes, that's the kind of ability that AAMS needs. Despite what Asshole (or whatever his name was) said last weekend, I think the stuff on your web site is good. It shows you do know what you're talking about, and are a very capable engineer.

Having the ability to manually control settings does not make AAMS worthless.
This was never the implication. I don’t think I listed this in my complaints.
|
Of course it wasn't implied... you never even implied that manual control was an option!

You may be right. This “sensible” is the qualifier that I think ultimately conflicts a bit with the automatic.

Really? If I put coal in with my whites instead of detergent, I don't expect to get clean clothes out!
