With software like this, give it a couple of years and record companies won't even talk to artists that don't score well.

Version 2 will probably take into account photos of the artist to make sure that they are good looking enough.

That spells the end of any chance of fame and fortune for talentless, ugly people. Better keep my day job.

The record companies, for the most part, seem to have been forcing artists to fit in a box for a long time now. This technology, if it is legitimate and accepted as such by the industry, may just give an artist a chance when dealing with said industry if the artist scores well.

It might be like having an extra wetsuit on when swimming with sharks; They will still get a bite out of you, but you'll float a little higher.

Popular music today is almost 100% image. Just turn on MTV and you'll see all the bullshit that gets passed as 'music'. Maybe this software will give real musicians a chance.

Yeah, Nashville really loves formula, and would probably use this stuff..

Until artificial intelligence makes its leaps and bounds, no program can properly distinguish flow, melody, or even vocals. Besides, you like music I don't like and I like music you may not like. So just because a computer program, smart or not, chooses a song based on specific variables, doesn't mean I'll actually like it too. You might, but what if I'm a fan of the spoons or something? In this case, rock/rap/country would never make it past my palette.

this is soo true but nowadays people go with what the tv says or what the internet says because weve become a society of people that cant make our own descisions any more, its ashame but it seems computers or only for the god damn internet, i just bought one on saturday and there where 4 steps, 3 of which were to set up the pc and the last was to get on the internet, because we all need to be the internet lol. sory for ranting
