My last post gave me an idea to help myself and potentially others boost creativity and songwriting/recording skills. The idea. Post weekly writing assignments on this forum. Members post replies with mp3s of songs that complete the assignments. The rules. Write, record, and upload a song in a week that fulfills the assignment. By "write" I mean the material must be brand new (no using old unfinished ideas). The "record" part is open in that you can make a simple one track tune or a 32 track epic. The quality of the recording only matters in that you get your point across. An example of an assignment could be to write and record a Kurt Cobain-esque grunge ballad. Maybe one week we'll do country songs, or something bluesy. The point is to stretch your mind and creative potential. Anyone interested? |

Sounds just like the kind of deadline pressure that gets me off my ass and doing things. It's a great idea, count me in Hopefully more grunge than country, but I welcome a challenge |

Cool, it'll be fun for sure! I'll post the first assignment soon. |
