Default Recording Independent Acoustic Album

I moved this thread over to Bash this Recording... also I fixed the link on both threads.

Wow... it's been well over a year since I've been on here - probably more like 2. I posted 1 song before but that was before the overhaul so I doubt it's still up here. Anyway, I'm finally putting all of my efforts into one unified album effort. It is a solo acoustic album since I can't seem to get a consistent band together anymore.

Presently I have 2 songs online - I have about 8 total songs for this album finished (writing) and a basket of ideas that should culminate in at least 4 more.

I'm looking for critiques/comments on the 1) the music 2) the lyrics 3) the vocal parts 4) the production and 5) the song as a whole. Feel free to mention one or all of those things or whatever you choose. Be brutal if you need to.

Steve Pierce - Alternative / Acoustic / Indie Artist

Thanks!

Hey Steve.
I listened to both cuts.
I have to admit, I'm tired. So, I will listen again, but the first thing I would comment on is the string/finger sound when you change chords and slide your fingers across the strings. It's loud. Distracting.
I'll listen closer to the lyrics and such later.

Same here.
Do you like how that sounds?

I'm listening to Chicago.

The acoustic guitar is quite brittle in the upper midrange. I like a bright acoustic which I call the "transparent" sound, but in reality that sound isn't nearly as bright as you may think. I would want more "smoothness" in the top end. I'm positive that this acoustic would hurt on certain bright stereos I use to gauge my work.

The vocal sounds very good. What mic is this?

Cool song.
