New song I wrote

I wrote this one this morning... Obviously its not done but I'm putting up what i have and wondering if anyone wants to give me their input on the song itself, not necessarily the recording quality. I don't think its anything special, and My voice sucks but this is all me on a laptop using the shitty built in mic with the pre-amp all the way down so that I don't clip.

its a simple but "cool" song. I think you can finish it by just replay the verse n chorus. The simple is better.... easy listening type of song. Or maybe u can make a higher key after 2.37 (something like Frank Sinatra did at 'My Way' song or something that Maroon 5 did in 'Wont go home without u)

Nowadays, from my viewing SIMPLE n catchy song always make the impact to the listener.

Okay so its pretty good and simple. Kind of what I was going for so thanks. I was thinking the same thing about finishing it so good suggestion. I'd really love some criticism on it. I know my voice aint good due to the fact that I'm not a singer, and I actually started singing along to songs in my car about 2 weeks ago (I guess thats my only "formal" training). Anything else would be much appreciated. I have a version with more lyrics that I"ll post tonight when I finish it.

I screwed up the piano part a few times when the drums first came in, and later towards the chorus. the drums are a little messed as well. I think i'll just program both of them so the timing is perfect.

Here's the first version of the completed song with a lot of harmonies and what not. Enjoy... Help on the mix is cool too (I know the piano is too loud and the vocals are too soft)

You know what, i really liked that! i would listen to that even though its not my type of music really. I thought it was brilliant. just one thing, as you already rightly pointed out, bring the vocals up a lot! They are good, don't be ashamed of them!

Thanks guys, this is all really positive stuff. Makes me want to write more. I'm still waiting for brandon to come by and tell me he hates it or something. I tried taking the piano up an octave last night and it sounded really tinny since the garage band piano plug in sucks. In about a week I'll be recording this song and the other 5 I have for my demo in my real studio. Since I play both piano and drums it should go by pretty quickly. So yeah basically this was a demo of a demo, the real awesome version should be done with in a month with all the others. Okay any more comments are always welcome.

I think your voice is fine! Turn that damn thing up, even on a shitty scratch recording.

I think the song is cool in that vibe that you are going for. I don't know who the hell that makes this kind of music, but you hear it on movies all the time. I think you've done great for just tossing this together. Cool song!

That should just prove that I love all types of music. I've made metal stuff before, but its hard to make it not sound cheezy when I don't play guitar.
