On another note, since your stance on MIDI is 100% open & public, won't you honor your open-ness about it all with this avatar I made for you, in honor of you? I even updated it to reflect your sentiments. People would commend you if you just manned up and took this avatar. It'd be an honor.

Cheers Whomper

my stand is that when there is no midi
people should speak english

when there is midi - and it has its place - but not in my pc --
people should talk functions not codewords that are meaningless in the software world

if you are talkign midi hardware then those things more or less do what the hardware names said they did
but software does other things plus a lot more

dont believe in ghosts avatars or obamacare
could that be what is confusing denga and string7th
or .... could it be those confusing midi mierda del toro palabaras que no significa nada

It could be. I don't appreciate the language though!

Why use Spanish that confuses people when you could do it in easy languages? Maths is pretty universal. MIDI is numbers. So it's got to be easier than learning a new language...

Well, it finally comes out! Fair enough. For awhile there, I thought you couldn't read my many attempts of dangling your honory avatar at ya.

MIDI's not confusing, and the respective MIDI terms are not bullshit, and they do mean something...they mean how they're defined.

Or unless you loose your job. Can't afford to buy American yet give more and more to the insurance companies year after year? A man whose priorities everyone emulate.

Socialists? Yes, there's one under every bed. Freakin' McCarthyite.

my job is quite tight thank you - nowhere near being loose
nor will i lose it

its the free market way
i get to buy what i want
and if i choose to buy (more) insurance that is my call not yours

and when american biz screws us with high prices
then i will buy from a foreign supplier

my last chevy was a lemon in bright bold yellow
so NO more more buying usa just to be patriotic
and govt motors wont be doing any better with them

next car will be honda

no socialists under any beds
they are all in congress and the white house
and in the statehouses

govt cant spend my money better than i can
but they will spend it faster
and keep 88% of it for themselves cause they are so deserving

i only wish we had a mccarthy that would prosecute both parties
for violating the constitution

Midi is real music. It is no different that the notes Beethoven wrote on paper 200 years ago. His notes were interpreted by an conductor and orchestra, midi notes are interpreted by software and processors. Skillfully written midi is every bit as real as music composed by other means.

Performance is another matter and you can argue the orchestra is more real and I will argue 99% or listeners won't know the difference between the two.

In some ways, midi is more pure as it represents the EXACT wishes and designs of the composer. The conductor and orchestra interpret but may not fully reflect the original intent of the work.

It is shortsighted to say the least to toss instruments from your toolbox because you don't really understand them.

I didn't feel like reading this whole argument so I'm just gonna jump to my question, sorry if it's already been answered. When it says that the fee for "a basic claim in an original work" at the us copyright website is $35, does that mean $35 per song or can an entire album be considered the original work?
