I also participate in Garageband and have become very frustrated. I thought I was joining a venue that would be filled with musicians who are there to give constructive criticism and support each other. There are some of those out there, but many seem to be there just to bash each other. I do not think the administrator at GB even cares. I do hear many great songs that are rightful to be placed high, but I also hear so many that are not placed high. It just seems that because a person can write a song, they can review like the Simon from Idol.

I am dissappointed with the venue.

I would love to find a better place. Does anyone know of a site similar to GB but provide a better calibre of human beings?

I too feel there is a lack of similair websites out there. I have been posting music on a site called Sectionz.com but its mainly for electronic music so I kinda get left out with my rock tunes. Any other websites out there that anyone knows of?

I wish luck to the person who attempts to find a site with decent human beings on it. It seems once you cross a critical mass of people visiting the site, you draw out the idiots and ne'er-do-wells who insist on populating their replies with insults, slander, and useless information. Anonymity, while a valuable commodity, makes some people go nuts, and with no retribution, what are we to do?

It makes me sick to go to youtube.com or ebaumsworld.com and read the comments people leave.

Like the line from "MIB"; "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals." And in a cyberworld where we can sh*t all over a persons messageboard or submission to a video or audio site... all common courtesy and respect goes out the window.

I keep solace in the fact that statistically, the really horrible comments are from few individuals, with many more people adhering to the rules and "playing nice", as it were.

It sucks so much that one person wields so much power, though. Can I get an amen?

Amen Brother!

Since my posting, I have found a few interesting sites I would like to share.

Stereofame - Create a Virtual Record Label & Compete for Rewards - This is a point system. the more activity you perform (leave a message, invite a friend, review a song), the more point you get. You get points as well if people review your music.
At least here, to review, the person reviewing does not HAVE to leave a comment. It is a thumbs up or down. Either they like it or not.

New music - Listen & Judge Country, Christian, Rap, Rock & More | OurStage.com - this is a battle of the band. I just joined so I do not have any personal feedback yet.

good luck everyone.
keep writing and recording
