Check it out at www.BANNEDPROMOTIONS.com
I could go on and on, but basically this is a site I built (this is randy mallett btw-Inkognito), and it's designed to help out local bands with just about anything they need-booking, web design, management, advice, show listings, and even some reviews & interviews from time to time. If you have time, please check out the site and let us know what you think. Brandon-I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Any suggestions/advice/criticism? PS I had to create a new profile anyway, because I never could log in for some reason under 'randy'. That's why I haven't shown my ugly face here in a while! haha

Well, first and foremost, I hope you've picked the right demographic of people to work with. I've taken a different route with my music these days. I've decided that the average hobbyist musician is not really who my studio needs to cater to if I plan on having any real success with my recording.
The day it hit me that the local musicians were not interested enough in music to make building a real pro studio economical, I must say that I took it pretty hard. If you do have interest in working with local bands, that's cool. Hopefully, you won't suffer the same fate that I did. I see that you FINALLY started using the domain redirect. Very good. I think this is a cool idea if you can find anyone that gives a shit enough to use the service. You'll have to pry the band away from Halo, pot, and laziness to actually do anything productive with their time. But if you find a few guys that do, go for it. I really do think you've got a good rig here. Don't let my dissillusionment with "local music" scare you off. My advice would be to find a couple of artists that you REALLY believe have potential, talent, work ethic, etc to make it worth your time. By focusing on a few great bands, I think a service like this could be awesome. If a band is already working really hard, the synergy of you helping them could be tremendous. Quote:

Ah.....that makes sense now-about the password.
Yeah, I agree with you 100% on all points. I didn't (and don't) expect every local band to jump on board. I know, from personal experience, musicians are lazy and cheap (except, for me it was pot and Madden NFL-lol). This doesn't bother me though because I don't want to spend every free minute I have on it (like some webmasters do-haha). Even though I spent 22 hrs on it in 2 days. I already have a few people working with me, a few streat-teamers, about 10 bands interested in working with us-over 70 local shows posted on the site, about 220 bands listed on the site, and over 400 hits in 4 days-not too bad for starters I guess. I, basically, just wanted to do something worthwhile to the local scene with my spare time, and do something I'm good at (since I don't have any numbchuck, bow-hunting, or computer hacking skills) to help some bands out. I learned alot in the past 12-15 yrs in bands, and I think I can offer alot to other bands. You actually hit the nail on the head too, I'm targeting certain bands to work with, and hopefully, we can expand from there. B, I'd love to get my boys in the band Butchered up to you. Death metal from the bootheel baby, and I'm tellin ya..they're talented as hell. The drummer is as good (or is better) then Alex Estes, the guitars are fat, chunky and catchy (& in key), and their lead singer sounds like the dude from Six Feet Under. Wicked shit!
