Any one have any ideas for quickly finding a musician for your band. I really need a bass player. We put adds up on our myspace, our friends' myspaces and at the local music stores. Any other ideas to help get the word out/ places to post adds.
thanks, check us out too! www.myspace.com/battlesigns |

http://www.themusicianfinder.com/ One of my bands singer was found on here. He was actually in a boy band (oh dear) and has a had recording experiences and has a lot of contacts and has an amazing voice. Point being you never know who you might find on there! Good luck with your search. Andy. |

Other bands performing in your area, your rehearsal space (if you rent one), local music papers (classifieds), local music online sites
If you socialize with other bands, chances are they will know people you are looking for, or a friend does. Sometimes you'll have guys already playing with other bands, that will come and play yours as well. Many times, they will jump ship and join you if your band is going places and the other isn't.

If your band is successful to begin with and has worked hard on promoting and such you should be able to just send out a Myspace newsletter thingy to all of your friends and find many people in a hurrry.
If you are just getting started or are not successful yet, you may want to follow the advice above. Either way, the internet can save you tons of work here. Brandon

We found our Bassist and Singer on Craigslist.com ...
Let me give you a little advice on placing an add... be honest and very clear in what your looking for. You don’t want to waste your time or anyone else’s. Be specific and list who your influences are, what kind of sound you’re looking for, what you expect, how often you practice, and what your goals are. Some people just want to play for fun, some people want to make a few extra bucks playing gigs in the local area on weekends, and some people want to make it big. You have to really let the reader of your add know what your intention is and let them know a little about the members of the band you have so far (i.e. experience). The more professional you sound the more replies you'll get. |
