Question Bmi Ascap Semac Prase(?)

I'm looking into representation and received this link from a friend:

CD Baby - BMI vs ASCAP? I need your feedback!

There's info (good and bad) about BMI, ASCAP, and SESAC

There's also a lengthy post from this guy, Terry James, about a group he and other musicians/engineers had started up (this was back in 2006), called PRASE. He had quite a few negative things to say about the big name organizations. A link he left led to nowhere and I've found nothing on Google about him or PRASE.

Anybody heard about PRASE?

Wondering what anyone here uses and how they like it? From what I read on the thread, I'm looking more seriously into BMI and possibly SESAC.

This guy who was slamming BMI and ASCAP said he and some like minded musicians/engineers were starting a service like BMI, called PRASE. Said it would involve no "suits". All players repping other players.

But I can't find it or him, anywhere.

So...I put it out here...nobody's heard of it. Think I'll go with BMI.

That would be Me, Terry James. PRASE stands for Performer Recording Artist SongWriter Exclusive. I have developed software that is embedded in all broadcasts and reports 100% of all Performances around the world, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The result is the only 100% accurate Performance Royalty Accounting in the world.

We may have to go for U.S. Legislation to force ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC to implement it, as well as the broadcasters which are mostly owned by one of the Investment Funds or Holding Companies representing millions of investors, and pension funds, but controlled by a handful of individuals whose interests are mostly in the Entertainment Industry [can you spell rich and famous 'stars?'].

We expect most of these self-interest groups, such as the leadership of ASCAP, to oppose this accounting simply because they will no longer be able to skew and fix their favored artists and publishers for inordinate sums of performance royalties as they do now with their stupid "Survey" system.

This is the 3rd Millenium, the world of the Internet, and true Interactive Broadcasting. It's a world where anything can be positively accounted for at 100% accuracy. Those who steal will oppose such a world. Those who are honest will support it.

After all, it's the Author, the Creator of Musical Works that deserves to benefit, stated in the U.S. Constitution Article I, Section 8, Paragraph 8. No where is any right given to any publisher whatsoever, but ASCAP, through their rules and regulations consistently steal from the Authors and give the money to the publishers. It's a fact.

PRASE was created to stop the theft and CopyRight Infringement at the source: ASCAP and the Movie Industry.

Terry James
