Has anyone here used TAXI with any success? They promise great things but the annual fee is steep. Not sure what I'm talking about? Check them out: TAXI: record deals, publishing deal, film TV placement, recording your music, songwriting

I was a member a few years back. Submitted 20-30 times or so. Got two referrals. Paid extra a couple of times for reviews. Got one helpful review, was not impressed by the communication skills of another reviewer and swear to god one review was written by a junior high school student (or so it would seem judging by the language and musical "insight" they offered). Over all my impression was that it's not a good place for an artist/band looking to pitch what they do. Better for composers/songwriters who are good at imitating what's hot at the moment.

| Hi...There are many reviews of Taxi.com available on the web and the Better Business Bureau gives them an AA score, which is very high. I've been a member for about one year and have received plenty of useful feedback, although no deals. What I have to realize is that Taxi.com really does act as an effective filter for publishers etc and as such they do not accept any kind of sub-standard work. My songs, instrumentals, productions, recordings etc have to be of a "professional" standard. This can be achieved with home recording equipment but you have to work and work at it. You really need to be spending quiet a few hours every week (day?) to achieve any success. My pieces have to be right on target for the listing and, to be honest, they have to be excellent recordings. It's no wonder that it's tough to get a deal. There are probably millions of musicians out there all trying to make a buck. This competition is both healthy and hard to beat. Are there any other Taxi.com members at Hi Guys....I'm looking forward to being a part of a recording community. Are any of you members of Taxi.com on forum.recordingreview.com? Betty |
