Exclamation weird midi issue

I have been using Easy drummer with Cubase 3 for some time now. I bought a E drum kit a while back and used a Alesis D5 for my midi to pc interface.(into m audio 410 midi in.)It works well, flawless with Easy drummer. If I try to use any other vst like Hypersonic and use its drum kits, the midi input is showing up in the daw and in the vst but I get intermittent notes coming out audio wise. i thought it was a velocity input isssue or something but thats not it.
I've had similar issues with a friends setup. hes using protools and if he runs the BFD that came with his Alesis control pad all is well. If he tries to run reason or any other plugin as a source to play the pad into it doesn't trigger right. I know I have my ins and outs set right, there's just something weird about this. anyone else experienced midi issues with extrernal triggering of vsts?

Sounds like a mapping problem, if you open up a piano roll window and look at what note triggers what sound in each program you can make a custom make to get it to do what you want.

Cool Re: weird midi issue

I agree ,but the midi note numbers on the hypersonic for kik snare hat and toms are the same and ex drummers.so it should be triggering them. its like i will hit a pad ten times in a row and it will only trigger three times out of ten. then i switch my midi out assignment over to ez drummer and it works perfectly. hmmmmm
