Default Vocals playback behind the beat!!!!! Help!!

Hi guys

I am using Cubase LE4 with a Tascam US 122L on windows Vista.

After a year working fine, my vocals now playback a second behind the beat. I have not changed any of the settings and have fiddled with latency and buffer settings but obviously that only affects Midi and not Audio right?

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to resolve this?..... I'm in the middle of projects and have no idea whats gone wrong? Do I need to upgrade my interface? would that work? My PC is only a year old... and everything else works fine.... its just the audio playback.

Would really appreciate anyone in the know?
Thanks
Charlotte

While I'm not entirely ruling out the Tascam US122L, this feels like a Cubase issue. There was an old thread around here about Cubase loosing sync.

Here it is:

Thanks Brandon, I'll give the time stamp thing a go if I can find it.... although the users in that thread are not using LE4...

I wonder if you have any suggetsions as to what would be the best programme for me to use for what I do.
I Import backing tracks from MP3 into Cubase and I record vocals... thats it in a nutshell..... anything other than cubase that is vista compatible that you think would be good for me?

Thanks
Charlie

Um, what? No, the buffer will affect the audio latency too, although it's more for monitoring that you'd be worried about it I think.

I had this problem for a while with SX3 - when I recorded guitar tracks it seemed like some of the samples were being dropped or something: the tracks I recorded ended up a little shorter than the rest of the song. I just increased my buffer and the problem seems to have gone away.
You might also want to check that there's nothing else running in the background - since you're pc is only a year old, I have to ask - are you running Vista? If so you might want to check this out. You might find something helpful there
