Default Vocals delay when recording

Hi guys,

I'm new here and new to home recording. I have a CAD usb condenser mic and when I record in Cubase SX3 there is a delay when I play back my vocals. HELP!!!! What can I do to correct this or what should I do to correct it. The mics is plug and play I don't have anything else hooked up.

Thanks!!!

Is there a slight stop when you record?

No there's no slight stop the vocals just start later than the track.

That sounds like it might be a latency problem. Maybe you could check the latency settings for your mic, and make sure you have the most up to date drivers.
Whenever that happens to me, I just record my part as normal, then nudge the track in cubase to line up with the rest of the song.
It's annoying, but far less annoying than spending ages trying through trial and error to find a good latency setting that won't crash the system, but still let you record...
