Unable to set up Tascam US-122 as output for my midi keyboard

I'm using an Axion 49 and I get sound when I have it set up through my sound card but I want no latency so I tried setting up my audio interface as the VST output or whatever that is in the control panel, but I get no sound and for the track output there is just a bunch of midi crap that I can't use i want my output as the audio interface, I can do it with normal audio tracks it's just midi thats giving me problems. Fruity loops set up flawlessly too all i had to do was click US-122 out and it worked, but I want to use cubase. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you were triggering the Windows Wavetable synth thingy. Don't go near that one. It wasn't designed for recording. It was designed for Windows bleeps and such.

You need to figure out the routing in your recording software. Check out the getting started manual in Cubase. Because Cubase is so flexible, it requires a few extra settings. It should literally be 3 settings and you are done assuming your audio interface has been installed correctly.
