Was hoping someone out there could help me with an issue. I normally use my M-audio Delta 1010 for recording in cubase. I picked up a Turtle Beach Montego card recently for gaming, which is a 5.1, as well as a 7.1 card. Under Cubase the ASIO panel only lists the card as having 2 inputs and 2 outputs. What I was wondering was if there was a way to do 5.1 mixing through this card?? Or for that matter, is there is any way to get cubase to recognize the other outputs on the card?? Or maybe an even better question to ask would be..... Does anyone happen to use a 5.1 surround sound card, such as a creative card ( sound blaster, audigy....etc... ) or turtle beach card, and successfully use all of the outputs on the card in cubase?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance......

Thanks for the quick response, and sorry if I gave the wrong impression. The Delta is, and still will be the primary card, and I can do 5.1 out of it if I really wanted to, but it was more of a curiosity than anything else. Just wanted to see if anyone had gotten a rig like that working. I'm running the analog out of the turtle beach card into a consumer set of logitech 5.1 speakers. This rig is normally just used for games and such, so like I said, it was just more of an experiment than anything else. The logitech speakers have 3 stereo 8th'' plugs that each represent 2 channels of the surround, same as the turtle beach card, so if you could imagine what it would take to adapt the delta to run into that sort of system ( a crap load of money at the local radio shack on adapters ) . Not to mention the loss of sound quality after running though all that. I have a set of Event 20/20's that I normally use for my near fields for mixing, and while the logitech speakers sound good, like any consumer speaker, they tend to color the sound in a big way. Again, this was more of an experiment than anything else. I was just curious as to weather it was a driver issue, or something of that nature..... it may very well be impossible to do. But thank you for the quick response. |
