| I am trying to import a drum loop. It is 75 bpm so I set the tempo and import the loop. Unfortunately the bars do not match up and it almost seems like the sound has been revamped slower. Am I missing somethin? |

However, I have often had clips that professed to be a certain BPM but were ever so slightly off compared to what Cubase said. You can play around with it by using the "time stretch" feature to make the loop fit the project perfectly -or- you can also micromanage the Cubase project tempo such as making it 75.03 or 74.85 or whatever until it fits.

Hi Thanks for the answers. I am using Cubase LE 4 and when i listen to the samples in media player or even the preview they sound correct. As soon as I import them into Cubase they sound exactly like they have been slowed down. Kind of warbling (if that is a word). I have read about music mode but when I look into the sample editor I have no button that resembles the musical note as per the instruction manual. All I really want is to take a recording that is 75bpm and import it so that it plays at 75bpm. Ideally fitting within the snapped bar sections so I can easily copy and paste to build a song. I guess I can live with it if the samples do not match to the exact bar but I cannot have the samples resampled at a slower speed. Any other ideas I could check? Thanks a lot |

Also, try right clicking on the clip and select Advanced > Stretch to Project Tempo. The instructions for musical mode are on page 119 of your Cubase manual.

Thanks. Yes I found the reference already on this page but I do not have the musical note that it refers to on this page. Perhaps the version I have does not tally 100% with the manual? I will try the other things you have mentioned as well. Thanks a lot for the continued help. |

I have found an option called "straighten up" which when unticked specifically for one audio import does allow it to play normally and fit within the bar but it would seem that I have to do this each and every time and I still do not understand why the "straighten up" will be taking it out of time in the first place. Don't know if this may help shed any light on what is going wrong? |
