Default terrible feedback

I have an Inspire 1394 with Cubase LE Software. I had an old computer laptop and it worked okay but popped alot. So, I bought a new laptop with 2gb memory. I also had to switch to an express card because of the new laptop. Now, all playback of what I record sounds terrible. Tons of feedback and you can barely hear instruments or audio. I have tweaked all knobs in the Inspire screen and nothing changes. I am running windows vista. I dont think it is a vista problem because old laptop had Vista too. Can you help?

Sounds like you have a line level signal plugged into a "mic" input.
That pretty wild when you do that kind of screaming with a lot of noise.

I thought you were using a sound card with a mic input and plugging a line level signal into it. I see, kind of, you said your using an express card. What is that? An interface for the inspire?

This is how to post a sample. It has to be an MP3 and 11.4 mb or smaller.
following is a link to a video that shows how to do this....

if you go to post a reply or start a new thread, scroll down once the new post window comes up. There is a rectangular button that says "manage attachments". Hit that and upload a mix. As Dave said, MP3 is the ticket.

Also try not post the same question in different threads. It makes it hard to keep track. I posted this answer in the original thread; maybe it'll help.

According to Cubase LE's User Manual and Steinberg's website, Vista is NOT listed as a supported OS for Cubase LE. A friend of mine even contacted Steinberg Tech Support and they confirmed this. My advice is to get rid of Vista; its probably the worst excuse for an OS ever created, especially for audio processing. XP has proven to be a stable platform over and over.
