Dear all,
I am rather naive in recording and since i do not know technical term it is very hard for me to solve that practical question. I am working in Cubase LE4. For example I have recorded guitar track and now want to add second track with rhythmic repetition of one wav sample (shaker). Because the guitar tempo is not constant (slower or faster)if I multiply the shaker sample many time by simple copy/paste than I have to manually shift those pieces to the proper position relative to my guitar track. So far I did not figure out how to do it automatically - probably somehow assign the variable tempo to the guitar track and then tell Cubase to put the shaker sample to each beat? I am sure it is possible in Cubase but did not find how to do it. Or just refer me to the good info about it, because the idea of hitpoints is not really clear for me. Also any link to the tempo editing things are very appreciated. Thanks. Sorry for wrong posting, please move it ot Cubase section. Last edited by shure_1302 : 06-20-2008 at 07:15 AM. |

Well, I think you are working backwards. The times where recording a guitar to without a click actually sounds better and more musically intense than without a click is rare. If a production requires even tempo (as it does in this case with the addition of the shaker sample) I would highly advice tossing down the shaker sample first (in time) and then adding your electric guitar. I thik you'll be happier with the results and it would probably save you hours of headaches to simply redo it. That's what I would do.

thanks.
it seems you are right. i usually do it that way. however, I wonder how to do it anyway, because with piano I cannot phisically play even tempo and need that kind of solution. I know it is relatively easy in Cubase SX3 or 4- it is called Timewrap, but I have LE. this problem occured when I play together with a singer who does not keep even tempo - if we want to add some percussion to the recording later I have either to record it myself or place the samples into the track manually.
