Suddenly having latency problems?!

Ok here's the deal, I've got Cubase SX3, using an Edirol ua-25 ex...both the software and the interface have been working perfectly but all of a sudden (without changing any settings) i'm getting about a one second delay when i go to record audio?! am guessing this is a latency problem?!

I've tried the following but no such luck;

re-installing the drivers for the Edirol
switching the 'advance driver' switch on (found on the back of the Edirol) instead of off, which it is usually set to
re-starting the computer

I'm thinking it might be Cubase related as there doesn't seem to be a delay in the signal before i open up Cubase.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

I'm not sure how the problem could be Cubase, but it doesn't hurt to be sure.

1) Create a new project in Cubase and see if it still does it.

2) Check out which driver you've got selected (under the devices menu). Maybe you somehow switched to a wuss driver without realizing it. It happens.

Other than that, this SHOULD rule out Cubase.
