Default static on guitars

Fish out of water here guys. I am, for some reason getting this terrible static on my guitar tracks. When I record guitar and listen through my headphones, I can here the static and when I play it back it is there as well.

This only seems to happen when I am actually playing. The sound is not coming from the amp and my mics are good. I don't know what it could be. Its almost like a crackling noise but once again only when the guitar is actually being played. Dirty not clean.

We need a description of your software/hardware and what interface your using and how your recording, mic/direct etc. And what input your using.

If you plug a line level into a mic input you get some pretty bad results.

please provide every detail you can think of.

kind of guitar, brand and type of cable, what the cable is going into, CRT or LCD monitor?
Laptop/desktop? PC or Mac? Does the noise change when you move the guitar away from the computer?

Ok I am playing schecter hellraisers, my sennheisser 609 silver mic is plugged into a ameri-series hi performance xlr cable ( not sure if it is a name brand) which is plugged into my Mobile pre usb M-audio. This is plugged via usb into my gateway laptop. The sound remains not matter where I am.

I don't know what you mean by line level into a mic input.
