Hi guys, I have various posts on several forums and I can't seem to get a good answer for my problem. Maybe you guys can help me.
I'll start off by saying that I am totally unfamiliar with home recording...so don't yell at me .Anyways, I just went out on Saturday to purchase an effect pedal for myself. I wound up buying that and a program package called Guitar Rig Session. It came with Guitar Rig 3, Kore Player, Pop Drums, the Session I/O converter and a copy of Cubase LE 4. Everything is working...my problem is probably very simple too...remember I am a novice. In Cubase LE 4 you have the option of hosting an effect program as a track. So naturally I have Cubase hosting Guitar Rig 3. The problem is here. For some reason I can't get any audio in Cubase! I have levels but 0 audio!!! In Guitar Rig as a standalone I get audio, but in Cubase I get zero, nada, zilch. Can anyone help me start recording? Please? |

Have you set up a BUS? You also need to make sure your sound card is setup properly. I believe there is a quick start guide in the set of PDF manuals. This is a complicated program but once you have it setup you'll enjoy it!

Uhm, I have the Guitar Rig Session I/O set up as my Bus, and apparently no sound card is needed to run Guitar Rig with the I/O (unless you count CoreAudio as the sound card).
If I do in fact need a sound card, what is an affordable option? And I guess I'll check the manuals again...at this point I think it'd be much easier for me to get Logic Studio ![]() Just kidding, of course. |

Hmm...in the Getting Started Guide, it says that the simplest setup requires a power amp and an external speaker.
All I want to do is plug my Guitar Rig Session I/O (audio interface) into a USB port, have input 1 as my guitar input, and have output 1 go to headphones. Do I really need a power amp to make this work? And is my interface allowed to be used by the program? (Wait, that was a dumb question. Cubase came with my interface!) I feel like such a fool...somebody please help me! A simple walkthrough to a simple setup is all I require! I'll pay you in cookies (because that's about all I'll have left when I'm all set .) |

What kind of cookies? If direct monitoring is greyed out it may be because Guitar Rig Session I/O is not configured as an output device. Try pressing F4 to access that configuration screen.

Chocolate chip cookies! Maybe even Oreos! And I figured out my issue! All I needed to do was set my interface as a mono input and I was fine!
Thanks for all your help guys, I'm sure I'll be back soon anyways ![]() |
