Default seperate tracks

Hi

Need help with recording with cubase le 4. I want to record two seperate tracks at the same time, and I seem to remember hearing that cubase le 4 was one of the few (or only) low end programs to do this, I just can't figure out how.
My interface is a Tascam 144, I have no trouble recording or playback or such. I just want to play and record a guitar track while I sing and have two seperate tracks to manipulate, and mix. So the first question is "Can I", next is "How"

Thanks in advance

TASCAM
This is the website to download the Tascam manual, in the manual it tell you how to record tracks simutaneosly. I think its Chapter 7 Troubleshooting......just a small suggestion, hope that answers your question.

I ran across this when I was looking for how to record vocals to be heard in both ears........any pointers for that?

Well of course you need to understand and setup your hardware, so once you do that...

Your hardware sends to asio host (cubase in this case) In cubase you setup VSTconnections to create a bus for each hardware input.

Then just create audio tracks in the project window. You want to record two at once?
Just make two tracks, set their input to the desired source (those bus's you created) and hit record.

Each track has a monitor button. If you mute the sound of your input (mic, guitar) in your hardware so you hear nothing, then press the monitor button your will be monitoring through cubase. I do this because I add effects processing in cubase. You hear your instrument with effects but it gets recorded dry because the effects are added after the recording. You may not be able to do this if you have too much latency (delay) in your system.

I add this in answer to raja asking about monitoring. When you monitor through cubase you can mix it any way you want. ( but you should be able to do that in your hardware as well)
