Default recoring midi files in Cubase

Hi

I have imported midi files from Band in A Box and have added audio tracks in Cubase. When I do the audio, mixdown the midi files don't mixdown with the rest of the audio files.

I believe I need to record the midi files as audio files in Cubsae (??)

How do I do this?

any help much appreciated.

thanks

Until someone more knowledgeable replies...

Are you playing the midi files through a VST instrument? Can you hear the midi files playing while monitoring? I believe you need to answer "Yes" to these questions if you want to hear audio on the mix down.

MIDI files can't mixdown with other audio filles because MIDI by itself is just data.

However, MIDI files can trigger synths and samples that do play audio. That can be mixed down, but it can only mixed down in Cubase if it has been properly routed to Cubase in one way or another.

What synth / samples are you triggering with your MIDI data. I have a feeling you are trigging the Microsoft Wavetable synth thingy. If you are wanting to use the computer for your sythns, it's best to use the synths in Cubase. In SX3, the shorcut is F11 for these.
