Recording during playback

Hi all! It's my first post to this forum and thanks for all your help. This seems like a great community and well moderated too.

So I just got a Presonus Inspire and am trying to record my violin over my guitar and vocals, but since I can only play violin after the fact, I was wondering how to record while playing back the tracks I've already recorded.

It must be possible, but I can't find it in the manual.

Hmmmm... No replies. Is it even possible to play back and record at the same time? Seems like it must be!

Which manual cant you find it in? Cubase or presonus. All the info you need will be in the cubase manual/ help.

Yes it is possible to playback and record at the same time. This is the whole idea of multitracking.

Maybe you should have a bit of a scout around in the forum to get some understanding of multitracking.

Aha, fantastic, my violin teacher showed me, and it was ridiculously simple-- just record and it plays as well. I must have assumed it would be difficult because setting up the interface was so non-intuitive...
