Default recording 2 channels

i recently bought a m-audio interface that has two inputs and outputs and i have been recording acoustic guitars using a mic and an input simultaneously. can anyone help me make it so that the mic and the input record in cubase on separate channels so that i can adjust them independantly? any help would be great!!!

Robbie

I think it depends on the version of Cubase, but you should have an option to go into VST connections.

Go into that and click on inputs.

You'll probably have to add an input bus for either the mic or the direct in.

Once you do that, then you go to the project options and add a second audio track.

On the track sidebar, you can tell it which input to accept. That would be the input you set up just a minute ago.

Not sure if that's clear enough. You may have a bit of a different routine to go through if you're using LE.

That is pretty much the correct process, no matter which version you use.

Cool, good to know Alan. I messed around with LE but that has been about a year ago and it was for only a very short time, so I tend to forget the similarities and differences between it and SE 3 and 4. Didn't want to say it was the same in case I was mistaken on LE.

Let us know if that helped, rhouseholder. If not, I'll see what I can do to explain it better.
