Angry Question regarding mixdown...

Before I begin, I will say that I've looked through these forums as well as I can and can't quite find my particular issue. (I know how annoying it can be to get the same questions over and over again, lol)

Here goes...

When I export my mix to .wav format (stereo interleaved usually) I've got all my sound in the left and nothing at all in the right. I've recorded and exported a hundred times exactly the same way and no problems, and all the sudden I'm having this issue. I am recording in stereo (I know, I just read that it's sort of pointless to record mono sources in stereo, but I only just read about that here), pan is set to dead center on all channels. I tried one of the suggestions given to someone having a similar problem (tossing tracks onto mono), with no results. Again, I've been recording like this since I got cubase le with absolutely no problems up to now. In playback in Cubase, sound comes through perfectly through left and right, but its when I send to mixdown and play back in, say, Windows media player that I'm finding my lack of sound in the right speaker.

I really want to avoid a rerecord as this was my best take yet. And I don't get a chance to record very often...

Any suggestions?

When you go to export, check all the parameters - make sure you're exporting the Stereo Out.

If that doesn't do it, import the file back into Cubase - do you get a wave on both channels or just on one?

Export parameters all seem normal. It's set up just like the other dozen or so songs I've exported with no problems. I tried importing (played fine in Cubase) and exporting that, and ended up with the same problem; no sound from right speaker. For a second I thought it had reversed it, but I had my headphones on backwards, lol.

This has got me scratching my head in puzzlement to be sure. Generally, following the exact same procedures should render the exact same results... Hmm... Just thought of something to try. I'll import again, double the track, pan one right and one left and see how that works out...

EDIT: AHAH! When I was importing the file, I noticed the preview function, so I gave it a listen. Both channels... Hmm... So I went into my computer settings to see if something was scwewy (as Elmer Fudd would say) and lo and behold... Something downloaded had decided to alter my settings for me. Not for MP3s or anything else, just .wav files. (I figured this out after playing snippets of every music track I have on my computer.) THE MORAL OF THE STORY: Don't let your wife download stuff.
