Angry processor problems

Hello all

I have just had my processor replaced last week on my computer its an intel pentium 4 2.8 ghz.

The problem i am now encountering is it wont play my track & keeps Crashing.

I am running Cubase SX3 & when im in the vst perforamce option my disk indicator in at 100% with the red light flashing.

Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

If you could would be greatly appreciated!

Regard's

Ricky

You have a fairly fast computer.

Are you pushing it REALLY hard with tons of effects and VSTi's?

Are you using the latest / last version of Cubase SX3? The last version was dramatically more stable for me.

Try cranking up your latency while mixing. (If you are mixing). Super low latency times make a CPU work MUCH harder.

I had this problem this summer... see if your hard drive needs defragmenting. Mine was close to 90% fragmented. That fixed the problem right up...

Thanks for a fast response on my post, my sound card is a m-audio audio file and my buffer setting is at 256. i do run lots of effects on my projects but will try & see if this helps. Also i will check the defrag but think this is o.k. thanks again for everyones help.
