Playback delaying HELP!!

When I record my vocals in Cubase Le 4 it plays back a second behind. I have fiddled with all the settings but just doesn't seem to have any effect on the problem.
I haven't changed any of the settings prior to this problem, and it has worked fine for a year, have even uninstalled the programme and then reinstalled but the same problem remains.

I need detailed instructions on how to deel with this, I am totally lost... please help me. ??

Which Tascam audio interface are you using?

I'd make sure you are using the latest version. Something tells me this is a well known (but fixable) glitch in Cubase LE4, but I may be losing my mind.

Someone has suggested once before to upgrade my interface.... anyway I'll get back to you later

Sorry for delay in reply, my interface is a Tascam US 122L..... So would you say it is the Audio interface that is delaying the playback? and why suddenly now when it has been working fine?

i am using the exact same setup as you but have no problems whatsoever. May just be your computer...

That might be because I am brand new to this forum site and clicked on the wrong thing .... if you have nothing constructive to add to my thread or post then please dont bother. I am here to get serious and constructive advice on my technical issue. Thats all I require. Thanks

I think he said the problem is in the computer.
Drivers, settings, whatever.

Not sure why you reacted like you did.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for the interface.
Kill all useless software like automatic indexing, antivirus etc. Get off the internet. Stop all autorun programs.
And if the problem is still there then start looking at settings and options.

Nobody can give you a definitive guaranteed solution with the info you gave us, nor can it be done remotely except for very simple and common problems.

Look at the tascam forums.
Google for tascam (model nr) and problem.
Check out other audio forums (there are at least 20 of them)

Have you read the fine manual?

did this ever work? What changed? Something changed. You may not think it is significant, but stuff happens when you add delete update anything on a pc.

are you ABSOLUTELY positive that you didn't BUMP or MOVE the track? Iv done that before and blamed my setup..

I got frustrated and tried a new project, new tracks and wow, the "problem" went away!

Hey thanks for your advice.. yes it always worked... I do have regular updates/automatic through my antivirus software... erm I did once actually go into the transport bar having just highlighted the backing track which I'd imported, to see if i could change the tempo of the track, then of course realised that this only works if you are altering tempo for midi... nothing seemed to change other than shortly after that I noticed that every time I record vox.... it plays back behind time. Surely it cant be because of me fiddling in the transport bar?
I do use internet, but never when i'm recording, and its never been a problem before.
Thanks for your advice..... I reacted to that guys comment about 'why am i looking at his siggy?' 'you should be looking at the f*****g thread instead. Bit rude i thought.

Oh I am absolutely positive i havent moved anything. I have tried new projects and starting fresh, but still same problem... I have even gone into old finished projects that I completed before this probelm occured, added a new audio track to test a vocal and low and behold that particular vocal plays behind the whole project!!

This is soo disappointing... I cant do any work... Dont want buy a new tascam in case thats not the prob.
