Default Panning problem in Cubase SX

I hope someone can help...I am having problems with the pan control...when I move the pan control I notice very little happens..I still hear the signal eg mono guitar track in both speakers or headphones. However it is a little louder when I pan to the middle.I have no idea why!

Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Regards
Chris

Hey Westerberg.
If I understand you corectly,You should try the paning on a chanal which is routed direct to the stereo out of your sound card. The channal being dry.(no effects on the channal). If its steel the same check if you have an external sound controler like mixer check the paning of your stereo channals.

Good luck.

Sounds like your soundcard/interface is putting out a mono signal. Check the settings on the sound card and in any software applications relating to that card.

Check the VST connections inside Cubase (devices menu)

There are three types of panners in Cubase. Make sure the master output is using a Stereo Balance Panner (right click on the panner in the mixer to change the type).

Make sure you're not using any mono plugins on the master.

Thankyou everyone for your responses!
I had a feeling it was an interface issue but it turns out to be somthing very simple!!

I have a Presonus headphone amp which I also run my monitors through and it has a mono button which I must have accidently turned on...with that off all is well...silly me! Thanks again for the advise however.

Regards
Chris
