mmx 8 came with LE 1.10. Trying to lay in an audio track from my sr 16, then practice a bass line along with the drum track before recoring it using a tech 21 bass driver into the mixer. Is the issue that I am trying to play "live" by monitoring input? can't hear audio without latency. have set VST multitrack and asio driver up correctly according to in full duplex mode. ALESIS says the input monitor button is not to be depressed in LE to avoid feedback. I have also patched the RCA jacks as reccomended by ALESIS. Any idea's? (maybe I'm just an old analog guy......) |

If your drum machine is plugged into the computer, I'm not sure why they think you would get feedback monitoring via Cubase. In your ASIO driver settings, does it tell you what the hardware in/out latency is?

Thanks Gentlemen. All instruments are input directy to the mixer. RCA in/out are jumpered according to instruction. Now, with powered monitors and the ASIO driver set to USB audio CODEC for direct sound in and out I seem to have much better performance. Brandon - I don't find a hard setting for latency - but it is set to low in the driver. 5 disk buffers and 256KB size. Clock is internal, ASIO driver is released in the background. Sync reference is input, card options are full duplex and start input first both selected. Is this optimal? |

I am tryig to use my alesis multimix with cubase. I have configured it to use ASIO Directx Full Duplex Driver. I have configured VST Inputs for using USB Audio Codec and VST Outputs for using my sound card (Sound blaserter 2 ZS Audio). With this configuration i can hear the instruments plugged on my Alesis, on my computer sound system via my sound blaster sound card, but I have a latency of 1 second.... I donīt understand if you are doing the same or if you are hearing using headphones or monitors directrly connected to your Alesis... And where can you change this 128 to 64 that you are writing on the post? It is on Cubase or in another place? I can't find where to change or where to view this value. I hope you can answer me, thank you |

Latency of 1 second is really bad. Did you mean 1milli second? Directx drivers are not good for the latency thing from what I've read. You may not be able to lower the buffer on some sound cards and yours might be one of them. If you can survive with direct monitoring then you may be O.K. Buffer settings are in VST device settings.

I mean 1 second... itīs imposible to play monitoring in that way... I have found how to change latency settings and now itīs less than 20 miliseconds, but when I am recording, Cubase shows an error 10 seconds after I start recording, itīs something about synchronization , and it stios recording... I dont know if the recomended think to do is to connect monitos to my alesis mltimixer instead trying to monitor using my sound card.... Thank you for your answer |
