Im not a active member yet, but i like this comunity ! So i gave it a try ![]() I had already install the lastest patch. Is there some fix install for trouble shooting that i should be aware to look on steinberg ? |

If you have installed the latest patch, then I'm unsure if there is another fix. See what you can find on the Steinberg site. I found that the latest patch resolved the issues that we had, but we didn't have the exact same problems it seems that you have.

*Update ! I just called steinberg tech support from work. And we have maybe found what is causing this crackling noise. Just before i have bouth Cubase 4 someone let me a copy of Cubase SX3. And now that i remember SX3 was crakling too.. So the tech told me that SX3 was not made to work on Vista. And its maybe whats is causing my troubles. There are good chance that i still have some hidden setting files in my PC and Cubase 4 import those corrupt setting. The solution is to delete the hidden steingerd folder in: c:/Users/Admin(or name)/Appdata/Roaming/Steinberg I will try it tonight when i get home and tell you the final result. I hope this will help some people who's having similar troubles. |

Problems with my Cubase 1)the recording mic in configuration settings in Device Manager (check mic boost set to 0), audio drivers that have lots of configuration settings need to be gone through diligently, better drivers, more settings for more things to go wrong. Sometimes it's wise to go backwards and search for simple drivers. 2)Is your program file you save to at the root of the directory or is it five layers deep? Notorious for crackling when moving file. 3)How is your Playback Configuration settings and how are they wired out to your monitor or speakers? Do you have output playback drivers sharing the signal? Consolidate here and get rid of the ones you don't need or just disable them. (adapters, stereo to stereo, or mono to stereo, old cables or possible intermittent bad conections). 4)Are you using GATE in your recordings? these are some of the problems I fixed with mine, now I'm going HDMI everything, I have a little hiss I want to get rid of. Good Luck |

I get this crackling when I push my CPU too hard. It doesn't occur in mixdown because the mixdown doesn't occur in real time and can take all the time it needs. This crackling from the mouse moving is almost always caused by the video card performance. Do you have any problem with just a single track or does it only occur when you are pushing your system harder? Brandon |

I have only noticed it, like you said, when the Processor is being pushed hard with the vst inputs, eq, etc... I finally realized that the program was bogging down with too much information being stored in memory. For me at least all I had to do was, instead of deleting tracks between takes (these tracks appear to be gone but they are still loaded into memory that is why you can undo delete track and the info comes back) I learned to record cleanly or delete the entire project saving only the good track and uploading it into a new project. Things started working more smoothly when I took the burden off of the RAM. I hope I'm understanding right how the computer and software are working but I do know this definately helped me.
