So...I've been recording for a while now, with what knowledge I have earned via trial and error....and I have discovered a bizzare problem with one of my current projects. I open up the project, and there are my drum tracks (as recording the drums is as far as I've been able to get in this particular song DUE to this problem...) and anyways, I go to play the tracks, and the meters are all registering, and the computer is telling me sound should be playing, yet...sound doesn't play! At first I am sure many of you are like: "Omg nube, check that your outs are going through your soundcard, or that the channels aren't muted, or the volume is turned up....etc." Problem is, in every other project I am also working on....all my audio files are playing just fine. I am running them through a firestudio project, and they are all coming through my monitors loud and clear. I have the identical settings applied to this project. (I have double checked, I promise....besides its all the same template I created) but no sound. As I have said, the meters are registering, but no audible sound is coming out. Now here is what I find strange. When I double click the file, and open it up in sample editor, either from the workspace or the pool, and play it in sample editor....it plays just fine! So of course I am confused very much as to why it will play in sample editor but not in my actual workspace. I have tried duplicating the file from sample editor into another cubase project, and it won't play there either. I have tried to just mix the files down and re-import them....nothing there....it just tells me: "warning...only the first 0 channels will be filled" or something like that. I have no inserts or Q applied to it that could cause it to react in such a way....I am really at a loss. I have raided the internet for an answer but....I find none. If ANYONE has an idea. Help me. Hopefully the answer is obvious and I just get laughed at by everyone here. I wouldn't mind if it meant I get this fixed. I am under a deadline and am starting to panic. PLease help. Thank you much.

Just a stab in the dark. Are all your ouput busses set up correctly on that particular project. Check your devices/ connections /outputs. Sample editor usually defaults to stereo out.
If you are only using 1 stereo out buss make sure all the channels are set to send to that one. Its a long shot, maybe you changed them unknowingly!! Cheers |
