Hello everyone! Here's my gear list!
Cubase 4 Presonus Firestudio DFHS 1.0 (looking to goto Superior 2.0, asking for advice) Studio Projects B1, C3, T3 & VTB1 tube pre Presonus Eureka comp/pre Adam A7 monitors Sennheiser 421 Shure SM57 & 58 Tons of plugins (Wave Diamond Bundle, Antares AVOX2) Having trouble with signal not always transferring from Firestudio to Cubase. Can see signal on Firestudio but doesn't show up in Cubase. Noticed USB cards aren't good, took that out. Running AMD X2 4800 w/Abit KN9 SLI mobo. Could this be bad? Also can't get audio from DFHS in Cubase. Ideas? Recorded original called "Come to An Understanding" that needs vox. Will post when done. Also recorded acoustic version of Maiden's "Wasted Years" Thanks for all your help! MySpace.com - savant421 - GLENDALE, Arizona - Indie / Rock / Other - www.myspace.com/savant421 |

I'd start with importing a wav file that works in media player into Cubase. Hit play. In the routing menu (F4) make sure the outputs are routed to the outputs of your audio interface. That should take care of it. It should be that simple assuming that the audio file plays correctly in Media Player.
The inputs work the same way. You want to route the inputs from your audio interface into Cubase (F4 again). Then on each track you need to select the correct input. All of this is in the Getting Started Manual in Cubase. Brandon

Yep, sounds like a routing issue. I still mess up sometimes and forget which input is going to which track. I'll be pulling my hair out and then realize that the mic may be plugged into channel 6 on the board, but I have it routed a bit differently so that it's named input mono 2 or something...
