Question need help with cubase and mpk49

hi guys, im new here. i just got my mpk 49 and im using it with cubase but my note repeat and arpeggiator wont work....i already searched google but that didn't really help....can someone please tell me what i have to do to get the mpk working flawlessly with cubase sx3?

dj,

I don't have cubase, but I do have a mpk49. You might try setting your midi clock to external in your global preferences.

i tried tht but then my mpk and cubase go off sync and the tempo's are messed up...i cant believe that cubase/akai aren't working on this

So everything works but the arpeggiator? If that's the case, the MIDI out on your controller is being sent before the arpeggiator can do it's thing. This has to be something internal in your MPK 49.

To use the transport functions and automate your MPK in cubase do this :

1) go to (on the menu in Cubase) DEVICES > DEVICE SETUP
2) Click on the Remote Devices Folder then click on the plus symbol on the top let hand corner to create a new Generic Remote
3)Click on “Import” in the right side of the generic remote window
4)Select the “MPK49.xml" preset in the cubase folder on the MPK disc …. yer not done yet
5)Change the midi channel on “stop, rec, play, rw, ff” from channel 2 to channel one.

Now all you need to do is export those settings and re-import the xml file into cubase and you are set.
