Default Mixdown in stereo question Cubase 4

I'm a little confused about how to mixdown my channels in the way I want. For example I have my mic in channel 1 (left) and my acoustic in channel 2 (right). I don't want the final result to have vocals only on left and guitar only on right. I want to for example add 30% of the vocals from the left channel to the right channel and maybe 20% of the guitar from the right channel to the left channel to give it a more mastered sound. Am I missing something in cubase? How can I achieve this? Thanks.

Yeah, it sounds like you are missing something.

First, since you are recording two mono sources, you need to make sure you are using mono tracks while recording these. At the moment, you've told Cubase that you are using a stereo microphone with your vocals one side and guitar on the other.

The mono tracks will allow you to pan however you want.
