Default Metronome seems to be recording

Greetings All -
This is my first post, as I am just learning to record. I bought an Alesis Multimix 12 which comes with Cubase LE. Everything is set up fine, but I know I am missing something, because the metronome records on the track regardless of the "Recording" or "Playback" tick box setting. I even recorded a track with the "Click" on (as a click track) and then recorded another track of the same with the Click off, then deleted the original "Click Track" and the metronome was still on the new track, but not quite as loud.

Any help would be most appreciated!
Thanks,
- T

Thanks, MD, for the quick response! Again, just learning, so how do I get the click track to a different bus? And don't hesitate to begin your response with, "T, you idiot ..."
Thanks again!
