I agree with you... it's so easy to end up spending more time tinkering and less creating. I think you've made the right choice for now

Eureka! I think I've got it! It really bugged me that I could not experience all the joy it seems that Cubase users have from using this program. Just when I had decided to move on, I ran across Native Instruments Guitar Rig Session, a hardware software combo of Session IO interface and some bundled software. Because I was intrigued by the interface, which was spec'd out to run on a P3 or P4 running at 1.6 ghz, I decided to give it a shot. AMAZINGLY, all my software runs flawlessly, including CUBASE 4 LE. No latency, no crackle or pops, just pure midi triggered VSTi sounds!
