Cool M-aduio 44 Help Needed Please!!!

Hi folks,

Everything about this soundcard is great apart from one thing...........
I CANNOT hear what is being recorded into my audio - but it plays back fine.

I have Cubase SX3 and wondered if i've simply forgot to click something so that i can hear everything going into my Cubase Audio sessions.

Regards

Davey Boy

be a little more specific about your setup. I use delta 44's in a smaller control room setting and one thing i've noticed about them is that the internal mixer is crap. Because of that, i have to do all of my source monitoring from the mixer (not the best way to do it, thats why i upgraded) except when I'm setting sounds, which is when i use the echo feature (im a sonar guy.) I'm not really familiar with cubase but my assumption is unless it has live playback (sonar does sometime...cuts in an out...definatly another thread) then you are stuck with that. That may be my lack of experiance though

my set up is m-audio 44 with my headphones plugged into outputs 1&2 - its just a pain not being able to hear anything pre-record...........but it always plays back and records perfectly............just find it strange i can't hear it in my headphones before i record

There may be a cubase expert who can tell you how to get live monitoring comming from the software. There is nothing you can change about your setup that will get you anywhere besides what I mentioned before.

Yeah, you need to click that little button that looks like a speaker on the front of your track....that's the monitor.

Press F4. Make sure your ins and outs are set properly.

I have 2 Delta 1010s. I've never found a use for their built in mixer thingy.

I've not found a single situation Cubase SX3 wasn't extremely well thought out. Not once have I been stuck. In fact, I have only one single complaint about SX3 and it's a small routing issue.

You have a few options in SX3 for this. I have mine setup so that it automatically turns on the "monitoring" button when I hit the record button.

See the monitoring section in the manual. I can't remember exactly how I set mine up. I configured Cubase SX3 to how I like it and I haven't played with that sort of thing in a year and a half.
