Latency trouble with midi controller

first of all im new to this forum and to the midi controllers and software such as cubase.
im running windows xp and just bought a yamaha KX25 midi keyboard and installed cubase AI 4 and the necessary tools for the extension for my keyboard. i also downloaded asio4all since ive been doing some reading and saw that i can solve my problem with this programm.
so now my first question is how do i start up asio and what exactly do i have to do so i dont have any delay between hitting the keys and hearing the sound.
I'd appreciate the help very much !!

What is your soundcard and computer? because something is going to have to make sound.

That's what an asio driver is for, your soundcard, or interface. If your soundcard doesn't have an asio driver available then try asio 4 all.

If you have an asio driver installed then choose it on the device menu/device setup/VSTaudio drop down box to choose. Also check VSTconnections on the device menu.
