Some details are missing - "when I setup everything in Options/Audio Setup/Audio System Setup" are you choosing the specific ASIO driver for your specific Soundblaster on this step? I assume so, but don't want to assume. Which soundcard does Windows show when you go to control panel? For playback, recording and Midi? The soundblaster or your motherboard one? Also, in Cubase, make sure your VST connections are setup and show the inputs from your SB interface.

Thanks for your reply uab9253. Yes, I did choose the controllers for my SB card (actually, I've tried every option on Audio System Setup). I've also checked the Control Pannel and Windows seems to detect my SB perfectly; as for the other 3 options (MIDI, playback and recording), SB is set up for them. "Also, in Cubase, make sure your VST connections are setup and show the inputs from your SB interface." - I'm not sure about this one, but... when I go to Pannels/VST Inputs, I can see a bunch of possible connections, but I only turn the synth connection on (1 IN L and 1 IN R). The remaining ones are off, since I'm not intending to record anything but my synth at the moment. Thanks for your help, I'm looking forward for some more! Cheers |

Hi thee Brandon, thank you too! With "Stock soundcard" you mean the soundcard integrated on my motherboard? If so, no, I don't think I'm using it. Read my previous comment if you don't mind. It seems Windows and my SB live happily together :-D... but Cubase does not >:-(

I can only tell you what I know from fixing my friends computer, and he has cubase SX3, so the process will probably be quite different. Regardless, set your VST Audiobay to Creative ASIO, and then go into vst connections (F4 in cubase SX), click on inputs, and then for the left channel, set it to '17 Line-in2/Mic 2 L' and for the Right channel, set it to '18 Line-in2/Mic 2 R' edit: just found my old cubasis VST disc, lemme try and work it out in there for ya! edit 2: it seems to be under the heading panel - if you click panel-->vst inputs and then arm pair 9, as opposed to pair 1 you should be good to go (I can barely remember cubasis though, so this may not be correct.) Joebingo's advice is the way it's supposed to work. I would also go into control panels > system > device manager and disable your stock soundcard. There is no reason to risk unnecessary conflicts while troubleshooting. Brandon |
