Default How To Make a good bass sound

Hi there is it anyone who has a good tip on how to make a good bass sound without a bass, I have tried vst,but I have no keybord and sucks on programming a good bass,is there any plugin that can convert a guitar played bassline from wav to midi or some good pitchshifter/octaver.

Just record your guitar and pitch shift it down an octave.

for $200 you could get an upgrade to Cubase 5 which comes with VariAudio. One of the features of VariAudio is the ability to change monophonic audio lines to MIDI. You could then play your guitar into Cubase 5, convert it to MIDI then play it back with ManyBass.

Alternatively, you could manually transcribe your guitar part to MIDI in SX3.

Note that VariAudio is not in Cubase 5 Studio.

Buy a guitar and put bass strings on it. Yeah I said that out loud. I was a bass player first and then got into guitar. At one point I was really poor and was giging as a guitar player sometimes and bass player other times. I could only afford to keep one instrument so I had a guitar that I filed the nut so that the bass strings would be a little high but not slip. Then I reversed the saddles so I could intonate it. Voila! Instant bass. I could undo this and gig as a guitar player to because the strings went further down into the nut and wouldn't slip out. I used it as a 6 string bass Low b to high c. It sounded good. Really good! You will have to unwind the outer layer of the bass strings on some strings to get the string to go through the tuning pegs. I recommend duel coil pickups. This idea is not so weird look at nashville tunings. I'm not sure if I still have pictures.
