Wink Help

Can any 1 tell me if it is possible to send a single track from a cubase project to wavelab? I want to sweeten the sound on a guitar part using T-Racks but cannot find how to get individual tracks loaded into it. I can however get stuff from wavelab into T-Racks. Hope this makes sense.
Any advice would be great.

Thanks
Neil

There are four steps that you'll need to perform in order to accomplish what you describe:

1. Export the guitar track as an audio file.
2. Import this audio file into Wavelab
3. Process with T-Racks
4. Render this processed track into another audio file.
5. Import this processed track back into Cubase

The biggest problem to keep in mind is that you'll need to sync up the T-Racks processed track in Cubase later.

In Cubase, solo the guitar track so no other instruments are playing. Next, set your start/end locator markers outside of the guitar track. Cubase will render everything within these locators to a new audio track. Be SURE to engage the 'snap' feature on Cubase. This will greatly help you to sync up the tracks later on!

In Cubase, choose 'File' and 'Export' and 'Audio Mixdown'. You'll need to match the bit-rate and sample-rate of your existing song, and save this new file. It may be wise to save it within the folder of your existing Cubase track.

Once the track has been rendered, you'll need to open it in Wavelab and perform the T-Racks processing. Render the processing, and save this track as a .wav file so that you can import it back into Cubase.

Open your Cubase song and place the song cursor at the point where you want the new track to start. Choose 'File', then 'Import' and 'Audio File'. Find the newly rendered file that you saved with Wavelab and it will open as a new track in Cubase. You can now mute the old unprocessed guitar track and you can use the new track. As I said, getting this new track to sync up with the rest of the song is the only tricky measure.

This is a very abbreviated crash course. Let me know if you have any problems.

Cool Re: Help

Thank you very much for the advice.
I am now able to do what I wanted. Yippeeeeee!
I have tried to add T-Racks to cubase as a plug in but it won't work. I wonder if this is because it is primarily mastering software.
Anyway Thanks again
Neil

Why wouldn't you just bounce the part to the beginning of the project? Then it will always sync perfectly.
