Default Getting Cubase SX 3 to recognize M-Audio Fast Track Pro

Hello all,

Sorry to inconvenience anyone who stumbles across this thread, but im a glorified recording newb; and while Cubase was nice enough to recognize the mic from my little headset as the default when recording an audio file, I cant seem to figure out how to get Cubase to do so with my Fast Track Pro. Im plugging my guitar directly in.

Ive been combing the internet the past few days trying to gain insight on all things Cubase (which is how I stumbled upon this wicked little site!) to no avail. Although I am learning alot!

Cubase seems to recognize my m-audio as a "midi out" if that sounds right, and I have the latest drivers for the interface. Would installing ASIO drivers have anything to do with my situation? If anyone can point me in the right direction, it'd be much appreciated! Until then, ill be combing my manual, Thanks!

Alright, ive made some progress... and Cubase now recognizes the fast track pro as a device, and records via the audio channel; But (as brought up in the only other post I could find similliar to mine) when playing back the recorded sample, no audible noise is produced through my monitors... I can however listen when the track is played back on the headphone's through the m-audio...

I have the m-audio asio driver set as the master driver.

Im so close to being able to do what I need from this program for the time being, any help would be greatly appreciated.
