I have Cubase Essential 4. When I use automation and then listen to mixdown after export, the levels jump up and drop out like crazy at random. Sometimes it is a single track jumping up or dropping out and sometimes the mix will just suddenly jump up in volume or drop way low. When I do not use automation, this does not happen- I just wonder when I export a project with out playing it through and using automation, am I exporting the project as is (as the faders are set) any ideas on any of this? Is this a clash in bit rate settings somewhere? ~ and why only when automation is used am I having this problem? Thank you Recording Review ! |

It sounds to me like the track tyhat is bouncing up and down has some automation in it somewhere....just go to that track and check to see what the volume envelope is doing when automation is turned on.....this problem is something simple to fix im sure of it and nothing to do with bit rates. The other thing it could be is that you have a compressor on the master bus that isnt configured properly and therefore some things are jumping out of the mix from time to time. But if im honest i think its the 1st thing i listed. |

Scroll down the tracks in the main window and look for any track that has a green "R". ![]() Click the "+" to open the volume envelope. ![]() You will see the nodes are on the time line...just delete these nodes or turn off the "READ" option on that track. A quick note to add is that i use Cubase SX3 so it will look slightly different than my screenshots show....but the principle is the same. |

Check that the stereo out mast fader doesnt have automation on it m8. Just check for the green light with "R" on it. If it isnt that that i am out of ideas m8.
