Default Ducking in Cubase LE4

I cannot for the life of me figure how hot to duck in cubase le4. I downloaded a couple of vst plugins but I don't know how to set everything up and route the channels. Please help

Not sure what your wanting.

You want to side chain a compressor to reduce the music for talking?

There's a lot about that on utube.

Yeah I'm trying to figure out how to do sidechain compression. I'm trying to have the bass decrease in volume when the kick drum is hit. There are lots of videos on how to do this in version 4.1 but I can't figure out how to do it in version 4.0.

Thanks

Wouldn't think they would be that much of a difference between 4 and 4.1.

Can it be done in LE? Think it needs a quad track instead of a stereo (is that in LE?), what compressor do you have? It has to have sidechain input.

It can be done in SX3. Those steps should work for 4. 5 is supposed to be easier to do.

Never actually tried it, I read up on it and downloaded the compressor but never got around to it.

I don't think the compressor that it came with has the sidechain option. Do you know of any free plug ins that do?

How do you set up a quad track?

Thanks.

Just add an audio track and when it gives you the option for mono or stereo, quad should be a choice as well.

When you search utube for sidechain cubase sx3 it shows you how and what to get.
as I remember...

But you need the quad track.

I'm no longer on a fast connection so I don't go to utube anymore.

Sorry.....You Can't sidechain or "Duck" in Cubase LE4.....I've been down that road already.

It cannot even be done with 3rd party plugind.....Cubase just WON'T give you the options to do it.

If you have LE4 your only option is to upgrade to minimum Studio 4 (if they even still sell that....you might only be able to get Studio 5 now)
