Reason won't make midi files -it's a handler like cubase etc. "Recycle" is an xlnt conversion pgm -I recommend this for your needs here.

pb would be 'handling'.. reason 'handles' midi files and midi controllers(kybd). right? right. when you assemble a tune in reason, you are using reason to handle midi files (sounds, can also be wav/aif) and it records your keystrokes on the keybd etc. right? right. when your composition is complete, you 'export' to wav file. these are all 'handler' steps done thru reason. to load a midi file into reason, you must have a midi already. if you have a wav/aif file, reason can 'handle' it using certain devices within, but not all reason's devices handle these files and sometimes it is better for reason if the file is midi or 'rex' instead. how do you make a 'midi' file? Not using reason.. you must use a different pgm to convert audio into midi. RECYCLE is one of many pgm's used to convert audio into midi. RECYCLE can convert to their own midi format called 'rex'. a 'rexfile' is reason's proprietary format. it's a reason-friendly format. RECYCLE also provides the option to convert as standard midi.
