No, it doesn't. If you want sample and loops libraries, I suggest looking into Logic Studio, or pairing a different DAW with Reason.

Hi everybody, I don't have a Mac, but I'd like to know if Acid has the same "philosophy" of Garageband... Ciao Alfredo |

loops are gay. Why use something that millions of other people have access to? Your music becomes unoriginal instantly. No creativity there.

Loops are good for sampling or to act as temporary stand-ins when you are writing or recording, nothing wrong with them.

Kind of, but not so much. One can play a scale an infinite amount of ways. Combinations of notes, etc etc. The musician's expression and feel comes through in the way he/she plays. A loop is played and that's it. You can add effects to it, but that's about as far as it goes unless you chop up the sample and reorganize the notes. If you're doing that you might aswell play a midi keyboard or an actual synth. My opinion only though.

Garageband has a little bit of everything. I'm not aware of Acid having virtual instruments (synths / samples). The last I heard ACID was just loops with the ability to multi-track record. When I used it there was no sequencer. I'd expect ACID to be a bit more "advanced" (whatever that means) at the looping end than Garageband, but this is purely speculative. Brandon |
