Default Cuebase LE 4 and Presonus Firestudio project, HELP!!!

So I seem to have lost the dvd that come with my copy of Cuebase LE 4. I am recording on a brand new Macbook Pro 2.4 ghz and i expect to have some real great experiences with ym machine now that i upgraded the computer situation.

HOWEVER...

I have a Presonus Firestudio project. I am using 2 condenser microphones to record an acoustic guitar using the three to one rule and it sound great except i would like to record each mic as a separate stereo track.

when i record now, the first interface input lets call it mic 1, is stereo right and mic 2(input 2) is stereo left. this creates a different sound then i am looking for and i would like to record each mic as an individual stereo track.

so heres what i did.

i created 2 mono tracks.
mono track 1 recording from input one, and outputting stereo (perfect)
mono track 2 recording from input 2 and outputting stereo. also perfect

now when i go to record... this is where it gets weird.
only the track that i had highlighted records!
i cannot seem to find a way to simultaneously record on two separate tracks.

HOW DO I FIX THIS??!!
please help,
dan

If you record stereo tracks with a mono source you'll end up with sound that only plays on each side. Use mono tracks on the way in and pan them to your liking to make them stereo.

Check out "arm" or "arming" in your Cubase manual. You must have it set so that clicking on a track arms it. I turn this off. I only want a track armed if I click on the armed button. This should allow you to arm 1,2, 10, etc tracks simulatenously.

Another alternative for what you are looking to do is record the tracks as 2 mono tracks then use a stereo plug in to change each track to stereo.
